Customer deployment: FM Logistic integrates video tracking in order preparation

With the explosion in warehouse flow volumes, the adoption of an effective dispute management process is becoming crucial. To meet this challenge, video tracking is emerging as a revolutionary technology.
In the field of order picking, this process involves installing cameras on the forklift trucks used by operators. Installed directly on the vehicles, they take the form of conventional cameras (in the case of double fork trucks) or a PDA equipped with a camera (lighter technology adapted to other types of truck). The on-board video tracking solution not only ensures constant supervision of operations, but also provides visual evidence that can be easily exploited in the event of a dispute.
With this in mind, our customer FM Logistic deployed our system on all the picking trolleys at the Saint-Cyr-en-Val site (45). E-Dentic would like to thank its partner for its confidence in the project, as well as for sharing the visual aids made available to us.

Lack of tangible evidence : In the event of a dispute, it was difficult to provide solid evidence to resolve differences with FM Logistic customers, which prolonged processing times and reduced the profitability of operations (bearing the costs of unverifiable errors).

High administrative mobilisation : For FM Logistic, the verification and dispute resolution process involved heavy, complicated and time-consuming administrative tasks.

Human error : Lack of stable resources to ensure effective supervision of picking operations. Human errors in order picking were not always qualified, preventing their resolution and exposing the warehouse to a multiplication of similar errors.

These problems in the field highlighted the need for a more stable dispute management solution, capable of providing precise traceability and providing FM Logistic's customers with visual proof of each complaint relating to order preparation.

In order to provide a viable solution tailored to FM Logistic's environment, the implementation of video tracking in order preparation represented several major challenges:

Reliability and precision : Our customer wanted to ensure that the video tracking system captured every stage of the order preparation process accurately, for seamless traceability. To achieve this, high-resolution cameras were deployed to meet the customer's requirements, namely the ability to identify the references and quantities placed on the order preparation trolley.

Technology integration : The integration of the cameras and video management software into FM Logistic's existing infrastructure had to be carried out without disrupting day-to-day operations. E-DENTIC was able to meet this challenge by choosing a lightweight, modular installation and EPYO VISIO software (which is intuitive and easy to learn).

Data management : All the video data generated is managed and stored on a local physical server, sized according to FM Logistic's backup requirements and integrated in accordance with the customer's security protocols.

The implementation of our video tracking solution to improve the quality of picking operations at the FM Logistic warehouse has enabled our customer to enjoy significant benefits.

Reduction in processing time : EPYO VISIO's multi-criteria search module has made it easier for customers to access visual proof of orders. This system simplifies claims-related searches to just a few clicks and allows administrative teams to concentrate on higher value-added tasks. In addition, FM Logistic can now provide tangible and irrefutable evidence to resolve disputes more quickly, thus improving the efficiency of its customer service. quality of service and the customer satisfaction.

Identifying human errors : Video tracking offers FM Logistic continuous supervision of its operations, with the possibility of viewing recordings taken from processes. As well as pinpointing errors, the customer has a clearer picture of the situation. a clear view of productivity losseswhich contributes to drive continuous improvement on picking accuracy.

By providing visual proof, video tracking is becoming an essential tool for transforming warehouse dispute management processes.
